Microsoft Excel (2007): Basic Concepts

The Fluent Ribbon menu system is significantly different and even experienced Excel users will find this course helpful before transitioning to Office 2007. This is a hands-on course where you will use a nonprofit budget case study to learn how to:

  • Understand Excel's Fluent Ribbon menu and tools.
  • Navigate around a spreadsheet.
  • Enter and edit information.
  • Use basic formulas.

Students taking this course must have a solid working knowledge of MS Excel, including basic terms such as workbook, worksheets, cell and row naming, and formulas. In this class you will learn how to:

  • Use advanced functions.
  • Learn the IF, VLOOKUP, and HLOOKUP functions.
  • Use macros.
  • Customize formulas spanning multiple worksheets.
